Special Sauce is a premier retail purveyor, with its foundation based within the skate and snowboard community since 1994. With roots deeply planted on Long Island, New York, their collective consists of likeminded individuals sharing the same philosophy, by staying on the cutting edge of the latest trends to drop, in action sports, lifestyle brands, and street culture. In keeping up with this tradition, Special Sauce is constantly challenged with the idea that loyalty is the key to sustainability, and with this comes growth through progress and change. Sauce is a living entity which has evolved into a universal movement, supported by an in house brigade of Skate and Snow advocates, B-Boy floor rockers, DJ's, Aerosol Assassins, Chess Demons, and overall family network worldwide.

In cooking, a sauce is liquid or sometimes a semi-solid served on or used in preparing other foods. Sauces are not normally consumed by themselves; they add flavor, moisture, and visual appeal to another dish. Adhering to this concept, Special Sauce is an essential element which further enhances the flavor of life.

The original two stores are located in the town of Bayshore, total 7,500 sq. ft., and specialize in skate, snow, surf brand apparel and hard goods. As the company has grown, so has their clientele seeking hands on expertise with specialty and niche products. To meet these demands, Sauce has provided their existing and new customers with the opening of their third and most highly anticipated store in the heart of Huntington Village on Main Street. Located approximately an hour outside of NYC by train, this 3,600 sq. ft. boutique will accentuate on emerging brands and trends for men and women, as well as the latest drops for the avid sneaker collector. With an interior color palette inspired by French Rococo design, special attention is dedicated toward emphasising the use of aesthetic merchandising.

Scheduled to open late summer/fall ‘09, the second floor will house a multi-functional gallery, used to raise awareness of local and international artists, with work featured in an array of mediums. In addition, the space will double as a showroom for pre-line releases, music listening parties, dance workshops, consultation shopping (by appointment) as well as a variety of collaborative events.

It's that time...Clear your weekend calendar, support, and come prepared.

LOCATION: Special Sauce- 37 East Main Street, Bayshore
SIGN UP BY: 3:00PM
GAME STARTS: 4:00PM

NOTE:
You must show up at least 1 hour before the Game of SKATE start time to check in at each event you have registered for. Check-In and Registration ends promptly when the contest begins. There is no online registration this year, all sign-ups are at the Game of SKATE location prior to start time only.

Official éS Game of SKATE winners from across the U.S. will be flown to California for the Amateur World Championships, (dates and locations for 2009 are TBD).

Factor Films Presents | THEY CAME FROM...


This may be prime time for summer, but that doesn't mean that you can't get yourselves motivated for the winter months. Set to release this winter 2010 by Factor Films comes their epic film "They Came From". It is the first snowboard movie ever to be shot in both Red, HD, and 3D. The movie will drop for free all over the globe this fall as free-dvd insert in different magazines as well as a free online-download. Available via Ally Distribution (US/Japan), Onboard Magazine (Europe), and in Normway (Playboard Magazine).

NIKE SB "Blue Lobsters" Are Coming....



Following up to last May '08 release of the Red Lobster Dunks, the anticipation is brewing since the Blue Lobsters dropped at the Concept store in Carmbridge, MA this past Saturday with much fanfare. We've been receiving non-stop requests about these crustacean critters, and YES we will be letting them loose on June 30th.

LOVE & HATE...

Back in '89 a relatively unknown Spike Lee dropped the film "Do the Right Thing", depicting the urban tale of strife & dystopia in the multi-ethnic community of Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. After watching this film (yet again), there are just too many good scenes to mention, but here's one of our favorites.

A classic Radio Raheem moment...check the message, spread the knowledge.

ROCKSTOCK & BARRELS WINNERS...



This past Saturday, June 13th was the 3rd. annual Rockstock & Barrels event. This was New York's biggest surf, skate, music festival to ever take place on Long Island. The results are final with 1st Place Junior Men going to Blake Ferraro and 1st Place Men to Steve Patsis both apart of the Sauce surf team family. Congratulations to them both- Keep it moving!...
