Hit up the Burton x Nylon party at the Flagship store on Wednesday night. It was a scene to say the least. Gift bags bring out the crazy in some people. It was mentioned (and as I heard in passing), there were a few people that stood outside starting at 4PM. The event was to begin at 7PM. By the time I got to the store, the line already started. Thankfully I was already toward the front waiting to meet up with with Martiza who Reps for Analog, Lucy Love , and Burton. Peep the latest Fall/Winter '08 Collection on the websites, as it will be arriving at the Sauce for the Holiday season.
After being ushered inside, it was already mayhem with patrons guzzling free drinks, appetizers, and of course looking for that free gift. Needless to say it wasn't that easy, and I was more intrigued with a man who looked oddly familiar. Turns out it was none other than Ang Lee himself, director of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". As for the gift, it was distributed to the first 200 guests only. The kicker was that you had to receive a clear marble, which guests would then hand into the counter desk when ready to leave. The place was packed, music was bumping, the Burton winter collection is tight. This season's offerings consist of brightly colored apparel and an array of new artist snowboard graphics.
Sauce has to give a huge shout and thanks to that hard working women Ms. Maritza for her hospitality, and hooking up yours truly with the gift bag. The night was a success.
L.L.N.
GIFT included: Latest Nylon issue, B by Burton knit hat, polish, V2Vodka w/ Taurine & Caffeine (huh?), and some kind of cocktail accessory.
